Notice of Road Closure for Elkhart County Bridge Replacement Project CR 142 over Turkey Creek

Elkhart County will be closing CR 142 between CR 21 and SR 15 beginning on or about February 17, 2025. The road is scheduled to reopen on or about August 13, 2025. The purpose of the closure is to replace the bridge carrying CR 142 over Turkey Creek.
The detour route will be CR 21 to CR 46 to SR 15.
CR 142 will be open to local traffic, but there will not be access across Turkey Creek for the duration of the project.

 

Notice of Road Closures on CR 17 and US 33

Elkhart County Highway Department will close the Southbound lanes of CR 17 between Missouri Ave. and Rieth Blvd. as well as US 33 between Missouri Ave. and Peddlers Village Rd. to install the new pedestrian bridge over US 33 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Tracks.  The dates and times for the closures will be as follows:

CR 17: Beginning 2:00p.m. on Thursday, October 10th until 4:00a.m. on Friday, October 11th.

US 33:  Beginning 12:00a.m. until 1:00a.m on Friday, October 11th.

CR 17: Beginning 2:00p.m. on Sunday, October 13th until 4:00a.m on Monday, October 14th.

 

CR 20 between CR 37 and SR 13:

County Road 20 between County Road 37 and State Road 13 will be closed on or after April 1, 2024 for road and utility construction.

 

Notice of Travel Restrictions on CR 17

Beginning immediately, there will be periodic travel restrictions, including lane restrictions and travel delays on CR 17 and US 33 at the CR 17 underpass due to an ongoing construction project.
